“Youth violence”

SE1 United

The SE1 United Youth Project was funded by The Cicely Northcote Trust in 2010, with the aim of revealing the level of violent attacks on young people in London SE1, and help prevent them from becoming victims.

The project involved research to assess the level and impact of violent crime and attacks involving young people, and then organising training and producing training tools for young people and youth workers.

The outcome of the project included the 'Safer Tomorrow' conference organised by the youths themselves. The Youth committee were very pleased with the project and felt that the conference was well run, interesting, and allowed young people to have direct influence and dialogue with key practitioners who work with young people. The level of honesty was very high and people felt that their views were being taken into account.
